Consulting. Sfile’s consulting team has extensive experience building extremely large scale content management systems for some of the largest global companies in the world. The primary goals of our consultants are to mitigate risk of a Sfile implementation, avoiding common problems before they arise, and ensuring the stage is set for successful ongoing operation.


Content Preparation. Sfile provides rapid and precise preparation of electronic and paper content including document assembly, bates numbering and document reassembly..

 

Imaging/Scanning. Most documents can be scanned with an auto feeder or light handling. Documents are typically scanned at 240 dots-per-inch (DPI). Quality control: Images are inspected to ensure that they are of good enough quality for the purpose for which they are being scanned.

 

Grade "A": Also known as "Auto Feed" Grade A documents are all 8 1/2 by 11 single-sided photocopies or good conditioned originals with a document to page ratio not less than 5:1, contain no over or undersized documents, have no physical fasteners (staples, clips, rubber-bands), and are without existing Bates numbers.

 

Grade "B": Also known as "Light Handling" Grade B documents are all 8 1/2 by 11 single-sided photocopies or good conditioned originals with a document to page ratio not less than 4:1, contain no over or undersized documents, have large group physical fasteners (staple, clips, rubber-bands) and are without existing Bates numbers.

 

Grade "C": Also known as "Medium Handling" Grade C documents are 98% 8-1/2 by 11 single-sided photocopies or good conditioned originals with a document to page ratio not less than 4:1, contain fewer than 2% over or undersized documents, have medium amount of fasteners (staples, clips, rubber-bands) and are without existing Bates numbers or with sequential Bates numbers.

 

Grade "D": Also known as "Heavy Handling" Grade D documents are 95% 8-1/2 by 11 single-sided photocopies or good conditioned originals with a document to page ratio not less than 3:1, contain less than 4% over or undersized documents, have medium to heavy amount of fasteners (staples, clips, rubber-bands) and are without existing Bates numbers or with moderately sequential Bates numbers.

 

Grade "E": Also known as "Stop and Start" Grade E documents 96% 8 1/2 by 11 single-sided photocopies or good conditioned originals with a document to page ratio not less than 1:1, contain less than 4% over or undersized documents, have a heavy amount of fasteners (Staples, clips, rubber-bands) and are without existing Bates numbers or with heavily gapped Bates numbers.

 

Grade "F” Also known as "Glasswork” Glasswork is defined as copies made from originals that require extensive handling and shall include but not limited to receipts, half-pages, envelopes, onion skin and thermal facsimile paper, originals other than 8-1/2 by 11 or 8-1/2 by 14, checks, permanently bound books, two-sided GBC, computer forms that cannot be sheet fed, and extremely poor quality originals that require extensive handling and analysis on a page-by-page basis

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Logical Document Determination (LDD) and Bibliographic Coding. LDD is a first pass coding process that includes subjective analysis in determining a documents logical beginning and ending number and physical attachment range.Sfile will determine logical boundaries of an individual document based on the profile information it offers (i.e. its own date, author, recipient, title, etc.) and attachment range boundaries based on physical bindings (i.e. staples, clips, bindings), or logical breaks as appropriate.
